The open ring of the HelpSoq is one of the most ingenious parts of this tool. The designers have incorporated a revolutionary component into it.
It’s a pleasure to watch a compression stocking being pushed onto the ring. Calmly and steadily, the elastic fabric folds over the ring and then remains fixed behind the edge. The stocking should therefore not be stretched too tightly, and once on the ring it should not slip off too easily. Of course, it was not easy to design the ring in such a way that both properties remained in balance.
The technicians at the design bureau NPK in the city of Leiden therefore tested the edge of the ring extensively and subsequently produced it in separate parts. These have a silicone layer to dose the movements of the stocking. And they are also designed for durability. The attachment is strong and made of light material.
In the future, the designers will always have the option to adapt the ring for stockings with different qualifications. And if we completely renew the device for a new user, these ingenious parts will naturally be replaced in their entirety.
